Neuronal Isolation Enzyme (with papain) is a tissue-specific dissociation reagent for the isolation of primary cortical and hippocampal neurons from mouse/rat embryonic brain tissue and is a component of the Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ Primary Neuron Isolation Kit (Product No. 88280).
Papain has been demonstrated to be more effective and less harsh than other proteases for tissue dissociation. When used with Cardiomyocyte Isolation Enzyme 2 (with thermolysin), it improves digestion efficiency and cell yield of primary cardiomyocytes.
Stability: 1 year at -20°C Storage of Reconstituted Enzyme: -20°C for 6 months and up to two freeze-thaw cycles, or 1 week at 4°C. Enzyme use after prolonged storage may result in poor performance.
