RENT1 Antibody (PA1-24745) in WB
Western blot analysis of RENT1 using whole cell lysate (30µg) from lymphoblastoid cell lines (EBV-immotalized B-cell from a normal individual). Samples were probed with a RENT1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-24745) at a dilution of 1µg/ml. Detection was performed using chemiluminescence.

PA1-24745 detects RENT1 from human samples. PA1-24745 is expected to cross react with mouse (100% conserved) and zebrafish (100% conserved) due to sequence homology.
PA1-24745 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
The PA1-24745 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to a portion of the C-terminus of human regulator of nonsense transcripts 1 (RENT1)(LocusLink ID 5976).
Target Information
Upf1 was identified as an active component in nonsense-mediated decay (NMD), an mRNA surveillance mechanism in eukaryotic cells that degrades mRNAs containing premature termination codons. Upf1 was found to be an ATP-dependent RNA helicase in the cytoplasm and was later shown to be a component of cytoplasmic P-bodies. Upf1 phosphorylation mediates the repression of translation that accompanies NMD, allowing mRNA accessibility to the NMD machinery. Two other active components of NMD, Upf2 and Upf3, were also identified and described as having perinuclear and nucleocytoplasmic localization, respectively.
