Specificity: Clone B7/21 recognizes a monomorphic epitope on human HLA-DP1, -DP2, -DP3, -DP4, and -DP5. It does not cross-react with HLA-DR or HLA-DQ.
Endotoxin Level: ≤ 1.0 EU/mg as determined by the LAL method. Purity: >95% by SDS Page; ≥95% monomer by analytical SEC.
Product Preparation: Functional grade preclinical antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro protein free cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
Storage and Handling: Functional grade preclinical antibodies may be stored sterile as received at 2-8 C for up to one month. For longer term storage, aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at -80 C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. Note: B7/21 is an antibody prone to precipitation at 2-8 C resulting in a slight opaque white liquid. At room temperature liquid is clear and colorless.
This antibody has been tested in the following applications: Immunocytochemistry, Flow Cytometry.
The human MHC class II is encoded by three different isotypes, HLA-DR, -DQ, and -DP, all are highly polymorphic. HLA-DP molecules have not been studied extensively. HLA-DP is a protein complex found on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells. Its main function is to present peptides derived from extracellular proteins to CD4+ T cells for immune recognition.
HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in Immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem Mass Spectrometry.
