PA5-32052 targets GFM2 in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The PA5-32052 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 319 and 605 of Human GFM2.
GFM2 is involved in mitochondrial translation, which is crucial for maintaining mitochondrial function and mutations in this system lead to a breakdown in the respiratory chain-oxidative phosphorylation system and to impaired maintenance of mitochondrial DNA. In Eukaryotes contain two protein translational systems, one in the cytoplasm and one in the mitochondria. This gene encodes one of mitochondrial translation elongation factors. Its role in the regulation of normal mitochondrial function and in different disease states attributed to mitochondrial dysfunction is not known. Alternative splicing results in at least three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
