Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (75%), Rat (75%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63525. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The TMEM52B gene encodes a transmembrane protein that is widely expressed across various normal human tissues, suggesting its fundamental role in maintaining cellular integrity. TMEM52B is part of the transmembrane protein (TMEM) family, which contains proteins that span biological membranes, including the lipid bilayer of the plasma membrane and organelle membranes. This gene is notably involved in tumor biology, where it modulates cancer cell survival and invasion. Studies have shown that suppression of TMEM52B expression can enhance the aggressiveness of cancer cells, indicating its potential as a tumor suppressor gene. Specifically, TMEM52B isoforms such as P18 and P20 have been found to differentially influence tumor dynamics, particularly in the context of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). While its exact molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown, the regulation of TMEM52B is crucial for controlling tumor growth and metastasis. Therefore, understanding its role could provide insights into therapeutic strategies aimed at curbing cancer progression.
