This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-64124. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

Acts as an anti-inflammatory factor in the intestine and colon. Binds to and acts on macrophages to downregulate pro-inflammatory gene expression. Affects key macrophage functions, including phagocytosis, by downregulating many key pathways for macrophage activation, partly via by STAT3 activation and signaling. May be required to dampen the immunological response in colitis.
