Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (62%), Rat (62%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111279. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Apoptosis-Enhancing Nuclease (AEN) is a nuclear exonuclease that serves as a critical player in p53-mediated apoptosis. Induced by p53 in response to various DNA damage signals, AEN is involved in the degradation of cellular DNA during apoptosis. The nuclease activity of AEN contributes to the controlled dismantling of cellular components, ensuring that the apoptotic process leads to the efficient and timely removal of damaged or unwanted cells. Its expression regulation via phosphorylation highlights the intricacy of apoptotic signaling pathways and underscores the importance of AEN in maintaining genomic stability and preventing tumorigenesis.
